Tournament #2:        Starting August – October 2012 for 12 weeks

 

Levels:                                    U7, U9 and U14

 

Format:                      Six-A-Side - Round Robin within each level.

8 overs for U7

10 overs for U9 and U14

 

Balls:                           Regular Tennis for U7 and U9

Hard Tennis for U14

 

Signup By:                  24th July 2012

NO Team entry will be allowed after July 24th.  All Players will have to sign-up with STLCL as an individual and late payment fee will be applied.        

 

Participation Fee:      $60 per player OR

                                    $360 per Team (up to 9 players)

$30 for each additional player in the Team

 

Late Payment Fee:    $10 per player                                                        

 

Awards:                      Trophies will be awarded to all the participants along with recognitions for Best Batsman/Best Bowler and MVP for each Level.

If you sign up as a player, the league will find a team for you.

 

If you sign up as a team, then the league will only be involved in providing the platform for your team to participate.  The facility, setup and balls will be provided but the team manager would be handling all the team management items.  The team commits to read and follow the rules of the tournament.  STL Cricket League will not be directly communicating with players.  It will only be communicating via the team manager on any action items or concerns.  Team Coach/Manager will have to complete the Registration Process in timely manner.

 

 

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

 

Q.1             Where the Tournament will be conducted?

Ans.     Love Park is our Primary Ground as we have booking there till mid-November. But in Sep-Oct, other cricket grounds also become available, so some games could be scheduled there too.  Participants need to be flexible on location.

 

Q.2             What day(s) the games be played?

Ans.     The games will normally be held on Saturdays and some Sundays.  Once we get the entire enrollment on time we can provide day and time slot per level.   However based on team preference, a few game would be weekday evenings too.

 

Q.3             How the teams will be formed?

Ans.     The Tournament allows enrolling players as team or as an individual.  The entries that come as a team, the team coach/manager will recruit the players and coordinate on practice and games within the team.

           

For, the participants who sign in as an individual we will place them in a team. The parents would be involved in deciding on the level of participation of their kids.

            Note:  Once the tournament has started, STLCL will not shuffle players around.

 

Q.4             What is the difference between joining as individual player vs. team?

Ans.     Difference describe below:

Ø  STLCL will not enforce if the team manager decides not to keep practice session on weekly basis.

Ø  STLCL will encourage the Team manager/coach to conduct one practice session per week.

Ø  STLCL will not involve in player/coach issues.

Ø  STLCL will mediate in case of player/coach issues.

Ø  Team coach/manager will have to share 50% of responsibility on ground setup (putting wickets/cones) and pickup.

Note:  Team Coach/Manager will have to submit the disclaimer form for each player’s before they can be officially registered.

Q.5             Is there going to be any practice / coaching provided for the players?

Ans.     A Coach / Manager will be assigned to each team.  He/she will be responsible for managing the practice session once a week based on his/her time and convenience.

 

Q.6             Can various age range kids be part of one team?

Ans.     We have 3 Levels of participation, U7, U9 and U14.  Younger kids can play in older group, but older kid cannot play in younger group. So a 8 years old can play in U14, but a 10 years old cannot play in U9.

 

Q.7             Can the team be co-ed team?

Ans.     Yes!  This Youth Cricket Tournament is for both boys and girls.

 

Q.8             Will the League provide a primary medical facility along with registered nurse in case of injury during the game or while practice session?

Ans.     NO!  League will provide FIRST AID KIT but in worse case if some injuries happens to any child we encourage their parents to take their child to the hospital at their cost.

 

Q.9             Do player and spectator need to have their own insurance?

Ans.     Yes!  Each individual whether player or spectator requires to have their own medical insurance.  League will not be responsible in case of an accident, injury or exacerbation of any medical/psychological condition as a result of participation in the tournament.
